Gerri Magie has over 20 years of experience in the public finance capital markets. As a Managing Director at Swap Financial Group, she advises clients on developing and implementing financing programs and the strategic management of debt and derivative portfolios. Since joining SFG in 2011, Gerri has worked on over 100 interest rate derivative transactions and provides comprehensive hedging strategy, risk management, regulatory compliance, ISDA negotiation and structuring advice. Gerri also supports SFG’s bond advisory practice and has completed over $35 billion of bond issuance across a variety of structures, including tax-exempt, taxable, fixed, floating, publicly offered and private placement transactions. She regularly assists clients with capital planning, financial analysis, transaction structuring and pricing.
Prior to joining Swap Financial Group, Gerri spent 8 years at Barclays and Lehman Brothers where she was an investment banker in the higher education and not-for-profit finance group. In that role, she worked on all aspects of deal origination and execution of debt capital market transactions for colleges, universities, and non-profit cultural and research institutions nationwide. She also assisted clients with credit rating strategy, debt capacity analyses, liquidity management and debt/derivative policy development.
Gerri began her career at J.P. Morgan as a banker in the public finance department. She spent five years structuring and executing municipal bond issues for governmental entities and public power utilities.
Gerri graduated from Smith College with a B.A. in Economics and she later received a Master’s in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics.
